On June 16 poloff delivered reftel talking points to Faruque
Faquira, Head of the United Nations Department, Directorate
for International Organizations and Conferences (DOIC),
Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Faquira confirmed that the GRM
would be represented at the June 20 International Conference
by its Mission in Geneva and that they intended to vote in
favor of amending the Statutes of the International Red Cross
and Red Crescent Movement. Note: Faquira also opined that
though there may be a small number of states that would try
to oppose the motion, he believed the proposed amendments
would have more than enough support to be passed.
