Emboff spoke with Luis Sitoe, Director of the International
Relations Directorate in the Ministry of Industry and
Commerce re reftel. Sitoe said that the GRM does not as a
matter of policy participate in the Arab League Boycott of
Israel and was unaware of any boycott of Israel by Mozambican
firms. Other inquiries failed to reveal any evidence of
Mozambican firms boycotting Israeli trade. Mozambique
imported USD 1.4 million worth of telecom equipment from
Israel in 2004 and a similar amount in 2005.
