(C) On September 12 emboff delivered reftel talking points to
Faruque Faquira, Head of United Nations Department,
Directorate of International Conferences and Organizations at
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Faquira stressed that
Mozambique supports the international community's position
and decisions made by the UN Security Council, and believes
that the problem must be solved by the international
community. Faquira was not prepared to state Mozambique's
position should the NAM choose to take a position in support
of Iran, but he did inform emboff that he would immediately
convey our message to Mozambique's NAM delegation.
