AS DIRECTOR OF THE IMSO

On August 31 emboff delivered reftel talking points, a
diplomatic note and the color campaign brochure on the
election of Mr. Steven Lett, the U.S. Candidate for the
position of Director of the International Mobile Satellite
Organization, to Faruque Faquira, Head of the United Nations
Department, Directorate of International Conferences and
Organizations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).
Faquira informed emboff that the Government of Mozambique was
aware of all of the candidates and that the MFA was working
together with the Ministry of Transport and Communication to
make a voting decision. Faquira stated that the MFA would
convey the information and diplomatic note to the appropriate
decision makers. Post will report any further substantive
information septel.
