Embassy delivered talking points in reftel to the Philippine Bureau
of Agriculture and Fisheries Products Standards on November 7. The
Philippine delegates to the Codex Alimentarius Commission's
Biotechnology Task Force meeting in Japan this month will include
Dr. Ernelea Palo Cao, Director, College of Science, Natural Sciences
Research Institute, University of the Philippines-Diliman; Ms. Charo
Amparo Ampril of the Policy and Planning, Project Development,
Philippine Department of Agriculture (DA); and Ms. Grace Mandigma of
the Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Products Standards,
Philippine DA. These officials will meet later this week to discuss
and develop a Philippine position and decide whether to request a
meeting with U.S. delegates.
