concerning Iran's candidacy for the UN Human Rights Council
to MFA Director for International Organization Affairs
Ghassan Shaikho. Shaikho listened carefully to the demarches
and said Bahrain would consider the views of the U.S. on this
matter. He promised to share the points with the Foreign
Minister and the Bahraini mission to the UN. (Comment:
Normally willing to give a full description of Bahrain's
thinking on UN issues, Shaikho was uncharacteristically
reserved in addressing Iran's candidacy.)
