Lizaranzu, who oversees issues related to the Arab League.
Poloff reviewed the need that Arab League members use their
influence to persuade Sudan to move forward on the Darfur
peace accord and concerns regarding resistance by some Arab
League members to a UN peacekeeping operation in Sudan.
Lizaranzu expressed appreciation for the USG points, noted
the Embassy's previous intervention on a related matter (REF
B),and said she would share the information with colleagues,
but did not indicate that Spain would follow up with Arab
League interolocutors.
