(C) Emboff discussed reftel points (originally delivered June
2) on June 20 with Serge Alzin, Counselor in the MFA's
Defense Directorate. Luxembourg will participate in NRF-7 and
NRF-15, with one officer and one non-commissioned officer as
part of the Eurocorps contingent, for each rotation. Alzin
stated that Luxembourg will be unable to make additional
contributions to the NRF at this point. Luxembourg is working
to address its limited ability to participate in such
missions through an ambitious military reform program (ref B,
update to follow septel). Alzin promised that once
legislation streamlining Luxembourg's deployment procedures
and regulations is passed, the GOL will be able to consider
increased commitments.
