(C) According to the Foreign Office's Burma Desk Officer
Penny Curtis, HMG "hole-heartedly supported" placing Burma on
the United Nations Security Council agenda. Poloff delivered
reftel talking points to Curtis on September 5. Curtis said
that the UK prefered placing Burma on the UNSC's agenda
through consensus, but is also prepared to vote in favor of
the measure if necessary. Curtis told us that there was
significant interest in Burma among Ministers of Parliament
and senior Foreign Office officials.
