Econoff met with Emil Ferjancic, Head of the International Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning on December 6. Ferjancic stated that he understood the USG desire for pro-conservation countries to participate actively in the International Whaling Commission (IWC) and welcomed the opportunity for the Government of Slovenia (GOS) to attend the USG hosted conference taking place January 2007 in Washington D.C.
