for International Organizations Wilfrid Ontchanga and
followed up October 18 while delivering Ref B demarche.
Ontchanga assured Charge that GABON shares the USG's grave
concern about North Korea's conduct. Although he had
transmitted Ref A request for a statement to Minister Ping,
he had no response, and noted that Gabonese diplomacy has no
tradition of using public statements as a tool. GABON
generally prefers discrete, personal approaches.
