VESSEL RESCUE (AMVER) AWARDS

(U) On February 7 and 11, Deputy Chief of Mission presented
AMVER awards to two Kuwaiti firms, the Kuwait Oil Tanker
Company (KOTC) and the Arab Maritime Petroleum Transport
Company (AMPTC),in recognition of their participation and
contribution to the AMVER program. The awards were presented
to Mr. Abdullah Al-Roumi, Chairman and Managing Director of
KOTC, on February 7 and to Mr. Suleiman Al-Bassam, Director
General of AMPTC, on February 11, 2006.
