(11/5): "How long will we accept the increasing intervention in our domestic affairs? Sometimes Iran penetrates the 'local street' and at other times, drug traffickers sneak into our country from Iran. Sometime MPs meet at its embassy and at other times, it [Iranian Embassy] attacks our press. Who knows what Iran will do in the future? We are doing nothing at a time when Iran is dragging the region into its cold war with America and the UN." -- Under the title "Military Strike" Dr. Yacoub Al-Sharrah commented in moderate Arabic daily Al-Rai Al-Aam (11/5): "If both Korea and Iran succeed in their projects to complete their nuclear plans, this will undoubtedly lead other countries to follow suit by entering the nuclear club. Building huge nuclear arms arsenals would mean with the lapse of time that the nuclear projects would become legitimate and this would make stopping them more difficult." -- Abdul Latif Saoud Al-Saqer penned in pro-government Arabic daily Al-Seyassah under the titled "The Current Era of Gulf-American Relations" (11/5): "Apparently, the United States has not succeeded in the necessary neutralization of the Iranian military troops because it is described as the state that repeatedly violates the rules of international law and threatens its neighbors. In general, the United States is trying to convince the Gulf capitals that the state of peace they now enjoy is attributed to the huge American military presence in the region." ********************************************* * For more reporting from Embassy Kuwait, visit: http://www.state.sgov.gov/p/nea/kuwait/?cable s Visit Kuwait's Classified Website: http://www.state.sgov.gov/p/nea/kuwait/ ********************************************* * LEBARON
