(C) The Charge delivered reftel demarche to the Acting Undersecretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Khaled Al-Babtain, during a June 11 meeting. Al-Babtain welcomed the initiative and promised that the GOK would begin thinking about possible meeting dates and suggestions on how to move the dialogue forward. He commented that Kuwait might recommend that the U.S. seek to develop the dialogue with the GCC countries as a group. ¶2. (C) The Foreign Minister is accompanying the Amir on his Asia visit.
