(C/NF) Ambassador spoke with MFA U/S Khalid Jarallah shortly after the Secretary had completed the statement on Iran to deliver reftel points. (The Foreign Minister was on a plane en route from China to Bahrain.) Ambassador asked that the GOK immediately issue a statement of support, calling on Iran to suspend enrichment activities and supporting the U.S. approach. ¶2. (C/NF) Jarallah said he understood what was needed to maintain the momentum of the U.S. announcement and put public pressure on Iran to resond in a constructive fashion. He promised to consult quickly with the Prime Minister regarding a Kuwaiti public statement and would inform us of their actions. LEBARON
