Following internal Malaysian government consultations involving the Defense Ministry and the Attorney General's Office, the Malaysian Foreign Ministry provided its response on September 18, 2006, via diplomatic note CU 667/06 (AME). The full text of the diplomatic note is repeated below. We have faxed a copy of the note to PM/PPA/Rachel Featherstone. Post will pouch the original Malaysian note and a certified copy of the Embassy's note to L/T. ¶2. Begin text of Malaysia's diplomatic note: CU 667/06 (AME) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia presents its compliments to the Embassy of the United States of America and with reference to the latter's note (Ref. no. 252) dated 3 March 2006 has the honour to inform that the Government of Malaysia is agreeable to the proposed amendments as stated in the above mentioned note. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia avails itself of the opportunity to renew to the Embassy of the United States of America the assurances of its highest consideration.
