1. On April 28, Econoff delivered reftel talking points to
Marcia Thomas, Acting Senior Director of the Foreign Trade
Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign
Trade (MFAFT). Thomas stated that Jamaica's continued
presence on the Watch List comes as no surprise to the GOJ.
They are aware that the Patents and Designs Act must be
enacted, and Thomas said that the GOJ continue to work with
the USG to strengthen IPR protection. She also noted that
the GOJ would respond formally; post will report any
substance from this response septel.
