On March 28, POLOFF sent Diplomatic Note 093/06 to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade (MFAFT) announcing the U.S. candidacy for the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Council and requesting the GOJ's support for election to the ITU Council. As requested in reftel, POLOFF also delivered a courtesy copy of the Note to the Ministry of Commerce, Science and Technology on the same date. ¶2.
