1. (U) On May 4, Poloff faxed Ref A talking points to
Angella Brown, Assistant Director, International
Organizations Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and
Foreign Trade (MFAFT),and asked that the GOJ vote yes to
amend the statutes of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement
in Geneva on June 20-21.
2. (U) On June 5, Poloff followed up with Pamela Ingleton,
Desk Officer, International Organizations Department, MFAFT,
who said that the GOJ representatives from the Jamaican
Mission to the UN would likely be attending the meeting in
Geneva. Ingleton's initial thoughts are the GOJ position has
not changed since the December convention were Jamaica voted
to adopt the Third Additional Protocol. Poloff faxed Ref A
talking points to Ingleton and Ingleton stated she would
follow up by June 8 to confirm that the GOJ position remains
unchanged.
