1. (C) In response to Ref A, Embassy addressed the issue of
Sudatel in Ref B.
2. (C) Regarding other firms mentioned in Refs C and D, post
believes that none plays a direct role in the provision of
humanitarian or reconstructive efforts in Sudan. Actions
taken against listed firms, especially the Sudan Gezira
Board, however, would likely result in economic disruption
and increased unemployment.
3. (C) Finally, with respect to the Bank of Omdurman, post
does not have specific information regarding ownership or
regarding ownership links to Sudanese Government officials.
