1. (SBU) At about 1500 on February 13, suspected Maoists
threw a socket bomb into a rubbish bin at a park in central
Kathmandu. No one was injured, but it snarled traffic
throughout the middle of town. The police do not have anyone
in custody.

2. (C) The bomb indicates the Maoists are present in
Kathmandu Valley and can cause disruptions at almost any
place and any time.
