(C) On November 8, Political-Economic Chief delivered talking
points (Ref A) to MFA Americas Division Section Officer
Bishnu Gautam urging the Government of Nepal to oppose all No
Action motions on five country-specific condemnatory
resolutions recently tabled at the UN General Assembly Third
Committee. More senior (and UN Division) MFA officials were
not available. P/E Chief also conveyed strong USG opposition
to pending retaliatory resolutions. Gautam agreed to share
the information with the relevant MFA office. Post will
follow up with the MFA November 9 for a more definitive
answer.
