(U) Nepal will support the U.S. candidacy to the UN Human
Rights Committee (HRC) in the September 7 election at the
meeting of the State Parties to the International Covenant on
Civil Political Rights in the UN General Assembly. The
Nepalese Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent Embassy Kathmandu a
letter informing post of their support on August 29.
