STATE 2153 ¶B. DIR FSINFATC 19 ¶1. Post nominates Tisa Lacoul Shrestha for the April 3-14 political training course for LES/FSNs who work in political sections. The requested information is below. Tisa Lacoul Shrestha Grade: FSN 7-4 Length of Service: 3 1/2 years English language ability: excellent Time spent in the U.S.: 21 days, at FSN Office Communication (April 11-22, 2005) Ms. Shrestha has never been nominated for political training before. Although she has worked as the Embassy's Protocol Assistant before moving to the Pol/Econ section in February 2006, this training would provide her with an excellent basis to transition to a section that is key to our twin goals in Nepal: addressing the Maoist insurgency and restoring democracy. This training will assist Ms. Shrestha in her analysis of the conflict and her written reports about current events. Meetings in Washington would also be invaluable. She would be able to share her increased knowledge with her colleagues upon her return to Kathmandu. MORIARTY
