We delivered reftel demarches on October 19 to Ikhsan Baidirus, Deputy Director General for International Affairs, and Inda Mekawati Perdanaputra, Assistant Director for International Affairs, in the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Directorate General of Post and Telecommuncations. ¶2. Baidirus and Mekawati said that Minister of Communication and Information Technology Sofjan Djalil will head the Indonesian Delegation to the International Telecommunication (ITU) Plenipotentiary Conference on November 6, and that the delegation will number approximately 40 persons. Baidirus and Mekawati also advised us that the GOI will give full consideration to the two requests set forth in the demarches, regarding the U.S. candidacy for election to the ITU council, and the candidacy of Julie Zoller for election to the Radio Regulations Board.
