The Prime Minister and Foreign Minister were occupied at the
National Assembly session June 1, so DCM Boardman delivered
reftel demarche to Deputy FM Le Van Bang. VFM Bang said the
GVN is studying Secretary Rice's proposal on Iran and is
considering the appropriate public response. Vietnam is
against proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and in
favor of the peaceful use of nuclear energy in general, and
wants to see diplomacy used to resolve international
conflicts, VFM Bang said.
