Begin Text: INVITATION FOR BIDS GOVERNMENT OF THE CO-OPERATIVE REPUBLIC OF GUYANA/ INTER-AMERICAN DEVELOPMENT BANK BASIC EDUCATION ACCESS AND MANAGEMENT SUPPORT (BEAMS) PROGRAMME Date of the Invitation: 5 April & 9 April, 2006 Loan Contract No: 1107/SF-GY Invitation for Bids N: B3.1G.116 & B3.2G.117 ¶1. The Government of Guyana has received financing the Inter- American Development Bank towards the cost of the Basic Education Access Management Support Programme - Phase 1. It is intended that part of the proceeds of this financing will be applied to eligible payments under the Contract for the Supply of Workshop Equipment for School Projects. ¶2. The Government of Guyana acting through the Ministry of Education, now invites sealed bids from interested Suppliers for the Supply of Workshop Equipment for School Projects. ¶3. Interested Suppliers may obtain further information, including eligibility to participate and may inspect and purchase the bidding documents at the address below, as from 03 to 19 April ¶2006. The cost of one set of bid documents for the project shall be a non-refundable amount of G$10,000 in the form of a Bank Draft made payable to the "Project Manager, Beams Programme". ¶5. The envelope containing the bid must include all supporting documents to satisfy the Evaluation Criteria and be marked at the top right-hand corner "Bid for the Supply of Workshop Equipment for School Projects" and addressed to: Chairman National Board of Procurement and Tender Administration Ministry of Finance, Northwestern Building Main & Urquhart Streets Georgetown Guyana ¶6. Bids must be placed in the Tenderbox of the National Board of Procurement and Tender Administration at the address mentioned above before 09:00h on Tuesday 9 May 2006. It will not be necessary to submit bids in person since they may be sent by mail. However, the Employer is not responsible for bids not received thereof and or after the time and date specified for receipt of bids. Late bids will be rejected and returned unopened. ¶7. Valid Guyana Revenue Authority and National Insurance Scheme certificates of Compliance must accompany bids for firms registered in Guyana. All other requisite documentation must be submitted along with bids. ¶8.
