¶1. (C) Per reftel C instructions, Charge met with Ministry
of Foreign Affairs Director General Umaru Wurie October 17 to
confirm GoSL's continuing support of Guatemala's UNSC
candidacy. DG Wurie confirmed the message received by the
Embassy on October 16 (Ref D) that he had contacted the GoSL
delegation with instructions to support Guatemala's
candidacy. He also gave Charge a copy of a diplomatic note
addressed to the Embassy documenting his instructions to the
GoSL mission in New York to support Guatemala, and emphasized
that Sierra Leone would continue voting for Guatemala.
