Poloff delivered reftel demarche on May 10 to Nasser Mohammed Hassan, the Assistant Director for Bilateral Affairs in charge of Europe and America at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Hassan said he could not make an official response, but said he would pass on the information to the Foreign Minister. Hassan asked for clarification on the PSI, and asked if it was different than the non-proliferation treaty. Poloff reviewed the talking points and indicated that the PSI dealt with the trafficking of WMD. Hassan said he would pass the information on the senior officials at the Foreign Ministry, all of whom are currently on leave. Poloff left talking points as a non-paper. SCHULMAN
