(C) Ambassador delivered demarche (reftel) to Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Morshed Khan. Khan said that the MFA met with the Home Ministry, confirmed the identity and nationality of detainee Mubaruk Hasheem, and plans to have interministerial meetings on the procedures to hand over the individual. He expressed his desire to have the procedures put in place by the time he returns from the United Nations General Assembly, which starts on September 15. ¶2. (C) MFA America and Pacific Wing Director General Shahidul Islam said that details of the transfer would be determined by the MFA and Ministry of Home Affairs bureaucracies, which would affect how quickly this issue moves towards a resolution. ¶3.
