(C) Post made initial inquiries on February 17 regarding
President Jakaya Kikwete's availability in early June without
commenting on the possible AGOA summit. Jacob Msekwa,
Protocol Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said
that the Government of Tanzania would not be able to respond
to the inquiry without a diplomatic note. Ambassador Retzer
will pursue a response as soon as possible as per
Washington's guidance.
