1. (U) Foreign Minister Asha-Rose Migiro has accepted the
Secretary's invitation to attend the Women's Empowerment

Working Group in New York on September 23, the Minister's
personal assistant, Mr. Innocent Shiyo, told Poloff September
8. Shiyo said that he would contact the Embassy the week of
September 11 regarding whether Minister Migiro will bring a
guest and, if so, the other participant's name. Embassy
point of contact is Poloff Maureen B. Latour (office

latourmb@state.gov).
2. (U) Ambassador Mulamula, Director of the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs' Multilateral Department, told Poloff
September 8 that the Foreign Minister of Austria also is
planning an event regarding women's empowerment. Mulamula
said this event is a breakfast meeting in New York, but she
did not know the date.
