(SBU) On August 21, econoff informed Mr. Mwakenja, Acting
Director of Legal Services at the Ministry of Finance, about
the addition of Abousofian Abdelrazik to the UN 1267
Sanctions Committee list (Ref A) and the numerous technical
amendments to the list made during July/August 2006 (Ref B).
Mr. Mwakenja promised to pass the information immediately to
the Permanent Secretary who would instruct the Bank of
Tanzania (BOT) to conduct a thorough search. He also
promised to share any findings which the BOT reported back to
the Ministry of Finance based on the additional name and
technical amendments made to the list.
