No. CLA 119/738/01/8, dated July 20, 2006, from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) on July 26, in response to the USG request for support of Ruth Wedgwood's reelection to the UN Human Rights Commission (reftel A). The text of said note is in paragraph 2. ¶2. (U) BEGIN TEXT: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Republic of Tanzania presents its compliments to the Embassy of the United States 'EmcH!hztp)QV q` JU6`Qk. The Ministry wishes to assure the esteemed Embassy that the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania supports the US candidature. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Republic of Tanzania avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Embassy of the Embassy (sic) of the United States of America the assurances of its highest consideration. Discussions between Poloff and MFA officials regarding Ruth Wedgwood's candidacy included the candidacy of Tanzanian Mohammed Yussuf for reelection to the International Joint Inspection Unit (reftel C) and post received a diplomatic note regarding same (reftel B).
