(C) PolCouns discussed reftel points with Vitus Njiku, head
of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International
Cooperation's Security Council Unit, July 13 who said that
Tanzania agrees that urging Qatar to delay the vote on the UN
Security Council resolution would be in the "best interest"
of all parties. Since the Arab League is due to meet on July
15, Njiku noted that more time should be given to achieve a
broad consensus in the UN Security Council on this
resolution. Njiku said that his Ministry would be in contact
with their UN delegation to recommend postponement of the
vote.
