(C) On March 16, Charge made reftel demarche to Lt. Gen. P.K.
Fall, the Chief of Staff of the Senegalese Armed Forces.
Charge followed up with Ambassador Claude Absa Diallo, the
Acting Foreign Minister, on March 17. Fall, as his
subordinates have done previously, stressed that a re-hatted
African Union Mission in Sudan must be a UN Chapter VII
peace-making operation. He also said that Senegal might be
able to contribute additional troops.
