¶1. (SBU) On January 23, EmbOff delivered reftel points and
supporting documents to senior Ministry of Foreign Affairs
officials.
¶2. (C) On January 20, Senegalese Minister of Planning and
Sustainable Development Mamadou Sidibe sought out Charge just
before the cabinet and the diplomatic corps presented new
year's greetings to President Abdoualye Wade. Sidibe, who is
U.S. educated, vehemently disavowed a story that has
reportedly appeared in the Israeli and U.S. press, stating
that Senegal backs Iran's nuclear ambitions.
