(C) Danish MFA Head of Section for UN Issues Helle Nielsen
October 19 reconfirmed support for Guatemala's UN Security
Council candidacy, stating flatly that Denmark and the U.S.
are "completely together on this vote." Nielsen indicated
that her government would be very interested in our views
should the race remain deadlocked, and a third consensus
candidate need to be found. In the meantime, Guatemala can
count on Denmark's vote, she assured us.
