underscored for us October 12 Denmark's interest in securing
quick passage of the U.S. draft UNSC resolution on North
Korea, and expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved
in the previous day's discussions in New York.
Parello-Plesner had already reviewed the latest draft, which
he received from the Danish mission, and noted approvingly
the changes designed to accommodate Chinese concerns.
Parello-Plesner reiterated firm Danish support for our
efforts and pledged to take our request for co-sponsorship to
Foreign Minister Per Stig Moeller, who must personally
approve such decisions (although Parello-Plesner indicated
that Denmark would likely respond positively, as it had with
UNSCR 1695).
