(SBU) EconOff coordinated with US TreasuryOff located in Sri
Lanka to obtain the following information requested reftel.
Sri Lanka does not maintain a formal national list of banned
terrorist organizations. Rather, it exchanges information
bilaterally with countries that have known operatives of the
Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). This information
exchange is conducted through diplomatic note, copies of
which are maintained in paper files. The Inspector General
of Police is the designated competent authority for these
matters.
