Assistant Minister for Americas Affairs, Mohamed Abul Dahab,
requesting Egypt to communicate to the Government of
Kyrgystan the importance of maintaining U.S. military access
to the Manas airfield for continued support to international
forces in Afghanistan. Dahab was unaware of the issue though
ensured emboff that the message would be conveyed to the
appropriate officials in the Government of Egypt, and that
any substantive GOE reply would be communicated to the
Embassy.
