(C) PolCouns delivered talking points in reftel to the MFA Office of International Organizations on December 7, prior to the long holiday weekend in Argentina. PolCouns followed up on November 11 with Minister Manuel Fernandez Salorio. ¶2. (C) Fernandez Salorio said Argentina will be represented at the December 12 thematic debate by their UN permanent representative, Ambassador Cesar Mayoral. While the MFA considered the topic to be an important one, he expressed concern over the lack of coordination and planning for the debate. He also expressed concern over a possible PSRT given the lack of prior discussion but said the MFA would take a wait and see approach. WAYNE
