Reftel directed the Embassy to seek the GOA's support for reelecting the U.S. to the ITU Council at the ITU's November 2006 meeting. That message was delivered March 2006. ¶2. The Argentine MFA has responded with a diplomatic note containing a proposal for reciprocal assistance. That is, Argentina will support the U.S. if the U.S. supports Argentina's reelection to the same body. An aide memoire containing the GOA's arguments in favor of reelection was faxed to EB/CIP/MA's Frank Williams on July 18. ¶3.
