This message responds to reftel task to conduct post-shipment verification on license 05-956707 for the shipment of radar systems and equipment to Romania, involving foreign consignee, C.N. Romtehnica S.A., in Bucharest. Embassy did not/not conduct a site visit. Location of radar is in Cluj, 450 kilometers N.W. from Bucharest. ¶2. Romanian Ministry of Defense, Armaments Directorate confirms receiving the shipment of the (2) GCA-2000 Precision Approach Radar systems from C.N. Romtehnica S.A., and confirms that all other commodities itemized in DTC case #05-956707 are accounted for and in possession of the Romanian MOD. The MOD also confirms it has an established relationship with C.N. Romtehnica and considers it a responsible importer of USML items. The radars are not yet online for air traffic control for the Romanian Air Force, but are scheduled to be online and fully operational on September 27. ¶3.
