REF: A. BARBADOS NATIONS NEWSPAPER, DATED 06/09/2006

1. According to a June 9 article in the Barbados daily
newspaper, The Nation, on June 6, 2006, members of the
National Conservation Commission (NCC),Barbados Police
Force, Ambulance Service, and Coast Guard, under the
direction of the national disaster preparedness agency,
participated in a sea rescue exercise in preparation
for Cricket World Cup 2007 finals.

2. The sea rescue exercise took place at Sandy Lane
Beach located in the parish of St James. The scenario
was six people who sustained serious injuries as a
result of a jet sky plunging into a group of swimmers.

3. The NCC project officer, Ricardo Marshall,
described the exercise as a "success" and said it
underscored his department's capacity to respond to
emergencies.
