1. This message is in response to the request in reftel for
an Embassy review of the foreign policy implications of
research project number DK066955 02, partially funded by the
National Institutes of Health (NIH).
2. While research involving primate subjects is a
contentious issue around the world, the St. Kitts facility
wisely keeps a low profile in conducting its activities.
Post does not envision any negative foreign policy
implications arising from NIH support for this project.
