Begin Text No.IR/2006/201 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Barbados presents its compliments to the Embassy of the United States of America and has the honour to refer to its Diplomatic Notes No. 0650 dated May 26, 2006 and No. 1027 dated August 28, 2006 on its candidature of Professor Ruth Wedgwood for re-election to a seat on the United Nations Human Rights Committee at the elections to be held during the meeting of States Parties to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights at the United Nations Headquarters on September 7, 2006. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade wishes to recall that the Government of Barbados has presented its candidature to the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) for the period 2007-2009, at elections to be held during the 61st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in 2006 and would wish to propose an offer of reciprocal support for the two candidatures. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Barbados avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Embassy of the United States of America assurances of its highest consideration.
