The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed by diplomatic note,
received August 9, that Slovakia will support the candidacy
of Ruth Wedgwood for a seat on the United Nations Human
Rights Committee in the September 7 elections (ref A). This
follows the MFA's informal expression of support received in
June (ref B).
