The Slovak Republic considers important that Montenegro has accepted European and democratic principles and standards through this process. Thanks to the active approach of the citizens of Montenegro towards this referendum, the process was fully legitimate, which is the key to further progress in the region. The Slovak Republic awaits the acknowledgement of the legitimacy of the process from all involved political players in Serbia and Montenegro. The Slovak Republic equally anticipates that even the next developments confirm the respect and the application of the rules and standards that will be the foundation for the fulfillment and realization of the outcome of the referendum.
