Poloff made Ref A points on the U.S. draft Fissile Material
Cutoff Treaty (FMCT) and delivered copies of the draft and
related documents to MFA Coordinator for Disarmament Daniel
Avila June 8. On June 9, Avila said the GOC agreed with the
concept of the FMCT, but did not yet have a position on the
draft text. Avila also said Colombia would likely discuss
the "procedural aspects" of the draft FMCT with the CD in
Geneva.
